Athletics: Big Hearts Helping Little Hearts
On February 12th -13th, ultra runners David Deubelbeiss and Monica Scholtz will attempt to break the Guinness 24-hour treadmill distance world records for both men and women (currently 138 and 98 miles!) during the Sick Kids Hospital "Have a Heart" radiothon broadcast.
· "Run for Hearts" begins on February 12th at 12 noon.
· David and Monica will not be running alone.
· 4 treadmills will be running in the foyer of BCE Place
· Corporate relay teams/celebrities/individuals will be invited to join David and Monica in their 24-hour pursuit - raising money to support cardiology at Sick Kids - "big hearts helping little hearts"
· At the same time there will be 4-5 teams of Sick Kids staff running on treadmills in the Atrium of the Hospital
The goal is to add lots of excitement and $200,000 to the radiothon total!
