Posted: January 8, 2004 Athletics: Running USA 2004 This Weekend in Arizona More than 150 leaders in the business and sport of road running representing over 95 organizations, companies and races will gather this weekend for Running USA 2004: The National Conference for the Running Industry, powered by Running USA and The Active Network. Running USA 2004 will be held on Friday-Saturday, January 9-10 at the Radisson Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. The conference begins with the keynote address by Laren Ukman, the managing director of IEG, Inc. and will continue with sessions that feature more than 40 top level speakers and panelists with experience and expertise in the topics. Among the speakers and panelists will be USA Track & Field CEO Craig Masback, Runner's World's Amby Burfoot, U.S. Olympic coach Joe Vigil, former Compaq marketing vice president Steve Huey and many of the top race directors in the country including Allan Steinfeld (ING New York City Marathon), Carey Pinkowski (LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon), Dave McGillivray (BAA Boston Marathon) and Cliff Bosley (Celestial Seasonings Bolder Boulder 10K). Also represented at the conference will be many of the shoe and apparel companies, including Nike, ASICS, Reebok, Saucony, Puma and Leslie Jordan, Inc., and the leading running organizations, including USA Track & Field, the Road Runners Club of America, the American Running Association, the American Association of Running Clubs, the All-American Trail Running Association and host Running USA.
