Multisport: CTS Names Mark Norris Senior Vice President

Industry Veteran to Head up Marketing and Sales Department

Colorado Springs, CO - Carmichael Training Systems, Inc. (CTS) announced today that Mark Norris has joined the executive staff as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales. CTS Chairman and Founder Chris Carmichael made the announcement.

Norris comes to CTS with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the cycling industry. Most recently Norris served as vice president, sales, marketing and product/brand management for RockShox, Inc. At RockShox he was personally responsible for setting the brand, product, and message directions for the globally manufactured and distributed line of bicycle products. He also led the charge for all new product direction, which resulted in numerous industry innovation and supplier awards. Through the implementations of contemporary organizational practices, Norris successfully managed employees in the marketing, sales, race/promotions and product management departments. During his tenure at RockShox, he was personally responsible for the company winning Interbike awards such as Best Booth Presentation (’00), Best Product (’01) and Best Supplier (‘02).

Beginning his career as the national sales and marketing manager for the Vancouver based Rocky Mountain Bicycles, Norris steadily grew in the industry working for such companies as Schwinn Bicycle Company (Dir. Bicycle Business Group), Specialized Bicycle Components, Inc. (Director, Bicycle Division), and Fox Racing Shox (VP of Products). Mark personally guided his team to Best Products awards at each company he has been associated with.

“Mark has obviously excelled at every company he has been associated with and helped each grow significantly,” stated Carmichael. “I am looking for his leadership to bring CTS to the next level and provide the best level of service to our athletes.”

At CTS, Norris will be responsible for creating and establishing all marketing and sales strategies for the various areas of the company as well as maintaining and growing the CTS brand as the leader in endurance coaching, training, and nutritional expertise. Mark will also work directly with CTS partners to enhance already existing relationships and creation of new associations.

“Chris Carmichael and his staff have worked extremely hard to offer the best coaching to their athletes and have proven CTS is the leader in endurance coaching,” added Norris. “I am looking forward to working with Chris and the staff to ensure we keep innovating and improving, providing our athletes the most proficient coaching possible and assist them in reaching their goals.”

Carmichael Training Systems, founded in 1999, is a community of athletes and coaches dedicated to improving the performance and lives of athletes of all levels and disciplines. Led by former Olympian and USOC Coach of the Year Chris Carmichael, CTS brings coaching expertise, product advice and endurance sports information to the athletic community via the Internet (www.trainright.com ) and through personal training camps and clinics. CTS works with a wide variety of athletes including five-time Tour de France Champion Lance Armstrong, 2000 Triathlon Olympic Gold Medallist Simon Whitfield, Montreal Canadiens Captain Saku Koivu, 2001 Mountain Bike World Champion Alison Dunlap, World Record Swimmer Ed Moses and Indy Car racer Eliseo Salazar. CTS is also the official coaching authority of the US Postal Service Cycling Team and the Trek/VW Mountain bike team. CTS also serves as the official coaching service for the US Paralympic cycling team.
