Posted: January 30, 2004 Triathlon: Opel Ironman Germany Reaches Limit of 1,800 Participants More than 1,800 athletes of 40 different nationalities have registered for the 3rd edition of Opel IRONMAN GERMANY Triathlon, taking place 11 July 2004. Due to a surprising rush for the slots the race had to be closed in January for the first time. The last slot has been allocated 30 January 2004. The competition will be a sporting spectacular with strong competition at the highest level. The Top 3 finishers of the IRONMAN Triathlon World Championship 2003 - Peter Reid (CAN), Rutger Beke (BEL) and Cameron Brown (NZL) - will compete against the best triathletes from Germany. The world class line up as well as the great atmosphere of the previous years caused the incredible rush. Now both athletes and organizers are looking forward to an exciting race in July.
