(February 16, 2004) It is with great sadness that we inform you that Rolf Lund passed away Friday, February 13 after battling cancer, at the age of 67.

Rolf was a retired Professor of Physical and Health Education at Queen's University, and was former Athletic Director and Head Coach of Track and Field and Cross Country. He is most fondly remembered as the Chair of Athletics Canada and past Board member for more than a decade. In addition, Rolf also served in many volunteer positions devoted to sport including:

The founder and first Chair of the Sport Alliance of Ontario
Past-President of the Ontario Track and Field Association
Technical Chair of the Ontario Winter and Summer Games

The athletic community is deeply saddened by Rolf’s death; he will be missed by all who were touched by him.

Services for Rolf are as follows:

Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm at the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel (Counter Street and Hwy 2).

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 17 at 1:00 p.m. followed by cremation.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kingston Regional Cancer Centre, Queen's University - Rolf Lund Bursary or the charity of your choice in Rolf's memory.
