Triathlon: Reid and Bowden win "Best in BC" Honours Canadian national team members Peter Reid of Victoria, BC and Lori Bowden also of Victoria, BC were awarded “Best in BC” honours at the 38th Annual Sport BC Athletes of the Year Banquet on March 9th, 2004. Reid received his award from Premier Gordon Campbell while Triathlon Canada President Bill Hallett accepted the award for Lori Bowden who was in Hawaii training. World figure skating dance champion, Victor Kraatz, was also honoured as Best in BC. The Best in BC is a special meritorious award for extraordinary athletic performance over a five (5) year period. Reid was selected for his three (3) IRONMAN Championship wins (1999, 2000, 2003) while Bowden was selected for her two (2) wins at the IRONMAN Championship and her three (3) second place finishes.
