Triathlon: Philadelphia Insurance Company To Serve As Presenting Sponsor of Florida Half Ironman At Walt Disney World Resort

CLERMONT, Fla.-- Philadelphia Insurance Company will serve as presenting sponsoring of the inaugural Florida Half Ironman triathlon on Sunday, May 23 at Walt Disney Worldâ Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., Ironman North America announced.

The Florida Half Ironman will challenge more than 2,000 participants with three difficult stages -- a 1.2-mile swim through Disney’s Bay Lake, a 56-mile bike ride around Walt Disney World Resort property and a 13.1-mile run through Disney’s Osprey Ridge golf course.

Seven members of Philadelphia Insurance Company’s management team will be among the participants, including: CEO Jamie Maguire and vice presidents Sean Sweeney, Chris Maguire, Tim Maguire, Deb Sutton, Cynthia Lasprogata and Jeff Collins. As part of its executive challenge, the Philadelphia Insurance Company management team hopes to raise $50,000 for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

By sponsoring the event, Philadelphia Insurance Company is also giving all athletes registered for the Florida Half Ironman the chance to win a free entry to another Ironman North America event this year.

Athletes can register by completing a brief survey of athletes indicate the health & fitness facilities where they workout and train, Philadelphia Insurance will send the hometown health clubs a sign to display that acknowledges each local athlete training for the Florida Half Ironman.

The drawing for the free race entry will take place at the Philadelphia Insurance booth at the Florida Half Ironman Village / Expo on Saturday, May 22 at 4:00 p.m.

The inaugural Florida Half Ironman at Walt Disney Worldâ Resort will feature a $25,000 pro prize purse and 200 qualifying spots in Ironman events across North America.
