Olympics: New York's Olympic Bid unveils new logo

New York City 2012 Olympic Bid

At a ceremony in the middle of Times Square, NYC2012 unveiled its new logo which will represent the bid and symbolize New York's City's Olympic dream throughout the international phase of the campaign. Members of NYC2012's Circle of Olympians and Paralympians were there to help Deputy Mayor and NYC2012 Founder Daniel Doctoroff and Brian Collins, senior partner and Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy & Mather Brand Integration Group and the Creative Director for the logo, launch the logo in truly gold-medal style.

The new logo celebrates the parallel values shared by the Olympic Games and New York by combining the counter-posed halves of two images, the iconic Statue of Liberty and a victorious athlete. Its colors of green and blue represent the Statue, an inspiration to the millions who have come to New York to pursue their dreams, and the sky above, a reminder of what unites us all.
