Triathlon: Coaching the way to triathlon success

Organisers of the 2004 Countryside Properties Salford Triathlon ITU World Cup are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Ward and Jack Maitland of TheTriathlonCoach.com as the official triathlon coaches of the event.

Simon and Jack are two of the most well-established triathlon coaches in the UK and work with some of the country's top elite and age group triathletes. Both Simon and Jack are BTA World Class Performance Coaches for young athletes on the 'Start' (14-16 year olds) and 'Potential' (17-23 year olds) programmes.

TheTriathlonCoach.com will also be holding 1 and 2-day training camps in Salford, in the months leading up to the event. The first will take place on 29th/30th May and the second 3rd/4th July. The whole weekend will cost £100 with a single day costing £55.

The training camps will be open to all athletes taking part in the ITU World Cup and will be held at Salford Water Sports Centre. The camps will be aimed at gaining the necessary skills for racing with emphasis equally placed on all three disciplines. For the full itinerary and to register for either weekend, visit www.TheTriathlonCoach.com.

Also as part of their official coach status, TheTriathlonCoach.com coaches will be offering tailor made training programmes for athletes of all abilities in preparation for the ITU World Cup. Whether a competitor is looking to win their age group, set a new personal best or just finish the course, Jack and Simon will be able to tailor a programme to facilitate that goal and work around other life commitments.

Simon Ward states: "We are very happy that the organisers have selected us, as helping triathletes achieve their goals is what we are all about. We are looking forward to working with those competing in the 'People's Race,' both those who are new to triathlon and those who are more experienced but aim to improve."
