Triathlon: Christoph Mauch wins XX Volcano Triathlon

This Saturday 8th May, at Lanzarote, the XX Volcano Triathlon took place with 222 registered triathletes, from 12 different countries: Austria, Canada, Denmark, USA, Spain, Germany, Estonia, France, Great Briatin, Netherlands, Italy and Switzerland. The start was at 10:00 a.m. in the Club La Santa lagoon, next to the beautiful sports resort. The quickest swimmer was the young Spaniard Omar Tayar; the French but resident on the islands, Fabrice Biteaud was the fastest runner, but the 2001 winner of Ironman Lanzarote, Christoph Mauch was quicker on the bike and won the overall race, as he had done back in 2000, 2001 and 2002.

First Local triathlete: Omar Delgado Cabrera from Tinajo, in 12th position, with a time of 02:13:00.
