Four athletes with sub-3:30 bests are slated to compete in the 1500m at the Golden Spike Super Grand in Ostrava, Czech Republic on June 8, organizers announced today.

Bernard Lagat, who raced to 3000m gold at the World Indoor Championships in March, leads a field that includes Olympic champion Noah Ngeny and former World junior Champion William Chirchir. Algerian Ali Saidi-Sief, Sydney silver medallist at 5000m, is also in the field, along with World Indoor champion Paul Korir and World outdoor champion Ivan Heshko of Ukraine.

Cornelius Chirchir, the 1500m world junior record holder at 3:30.01 and Japheth Kimutai, the 800m world junior record holder, will toe the line as well. Cornelius Chirchir set the meet record of 3:31.17 last year. Czech Olympic hope Michel Sneberger is aiming for the Olympic 'A' standard of 3:36.20.

Daniel Komen, who also boasts a sub 3:30 best in the 1500m and the current world record holder in the 3000m, has been added to the field in the 10,000m. Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia is also scheduled to contest the 10,000m.
