Triathlon: World Triathlon Corporation Signs ASI Photo as Official Race Photographer

Tarpon Springs, FL - The World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) announced today that it has signed ASI Photo to be the Official Provider of participant photos at the Ironman Triathlon World Championship being held on October 16, 2004 in Hawaii.

As part of the agreement, ASI Photo will capture a variety of photos for each athlete as he/she competes in the 140.6 mile journey. All photos taken by ASI Photo will be made available to participants the day after the event (October 17) in a variety of package options. In addition, participants will have the ability to pre-order photo packages before the event via the Official event website, www.ironmanlive.com.

The Ironman Triathlon World Championship consists of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run. The even takes place each October on Hawaii’s Big Island, in Kailua-Kona. The race first received television coverage in 1980 as part of ABC’s Wide World of Sports. In 1991, the broadcast was moved to NBC where it became a stand-alone program.
