With her third-attempt clearance, the 22-year-old Russian added one centimeter to her own record, set in Budapest last March when she won the World Indoor Championship. It was the second world record for Isinbayeva in Gateshead. Last year she also set a world record, clearing 4.82m (15-9 3/4). This was her first competition of the outdoor season.
