Posted: June 28, 2004 Triathlon: Carolyn Murray 2nd in ITU New York City International Event Edmonton's Carolyn Murray finished a phenomenal second place today in the ITU New York City International Triathlon. Murray, 27, finished in a time of 1:59:08 to Australia's Loretta Harrop. Harrop, who will represent Australia in the Athens Olympic Games. Rebeccah Wassner (USA) rounded out the podium. Other Canadain women finishing the event include Marie - Elaine Lalon who finished 8th, Anastastia Polito in 10th position, Genvieve Pellerin in 11th place and Kerry Spearing in 13th position. In the men's event; the posium consisted of Americans Greg Remaly; Victor Plata and Joe Umphenour. The top Canadian was David James Tache eho finished in 9th position in a time of 1:49:43. Canadians Mathieu Dube and Julien Periard were 10th and 11th respecively. Alexis Ascah, Aaron Webb and Dave Thomas completed the large contingent of Canadian in New York finishing 13th, 15th and 20th. From TriathlonCanada.com. |
