Athletics: Kastor Nominated for an ESPY Award

On June 21, ESPN announced the nominees for the 2004 ESPY Awards and U.S. distance ace and Team Running USA athlete Deena Kastor was one of four women in the best female track and field category; also Hestrie Cloete (South African high jumper), Gail Devers (hurdler) and Stacy Dragila (pole vaulter).

This year, complete fan voting will decide who takes home the hardware and now it's your turn to decide the winner. Vote for Deena Kastor here.

Overall, there are 36 ESPY categories - including 17 individual (sport-specific) awards and 19 cross-cutter awards (athletes from different sports).

ESPN will televise this year's industry-wide sports celebration in a new Sunday time slot: July 18 at 9pm ET. The polls will remain open through July 9.
