Posted: July 1, 2004 Athletics: DeHaven Becomes Collegiate Coach From David Monti (c) 2004 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com U.S. marathoner Rod DeHaven will return to South Dakota State University in Brookings, but this time as a coach. The university announced yesterday that DeHaven had accepted the position of coordinator and head coach of cross country and track-and-field for men and women. DeHaven, 37, was one of the most versatile U.S. distance runners throughout his career: 3:40.15, 13:40.41, 28:06.25, and 2:11:40. He was the lone U.S. male marathoner in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, after winning the hot and humid Olympic Trials in Pittsburgh. For more, visit the SDState website at: www3.sdstate.edu. |
