Posted: July 3, 2004 Athletics: Track spikes account for $34 million in 2003 sales The results from a recent survey from American Track & Field Magazine revealed a solid year for track spikes sales in 2003, including marketplace shares from 11 notable companies. Nike leads the way with 60 percent of the marketplace. In 2003, over 760,000 pairs of track spikes were sold, netting $34,560,000 in income, with the average pair of spikes costing $48.00.
