Posted: July 14, 2004 Athletics: AP Report: Kennedy Still To Run Marathon From David Monti (c) 2004 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com Although he dropped out of the men's 10,000m finals at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Sacramento, Calif., last Friday, U.S. 3000m and 5000m record holder, Bob Kennedy, still plans to make his marathon debut in New York on November 7. "Although I am greatly disappointed in not going to Athens, I still look forward with incredible excitement and passion" to running in New York," Kennedy told the wire service. An Achilles tendon injury in Kennedy's right foot caused him to drop out of last Friday's race after running with the leaders for nine laps. |
