Posted: July 19, 2004 Cycling: RONA MS Bike Tours Gear Up to Take on MS
TORONTO, ON - July 15, 2004 … Participants across Ontario are putting pedal to pavement to fight multiple sclerosis during the upcoming 15th Annual RONA MS Bike Tours. More than 7,000 cyclists of all ages and abilities are expected to participate across Canada, raising $4.8 million for multiple sclerosis research and services. These pedaling partakers ride for lots of reasons. Susan McEwan rides for her mother who lived with MS for over 40 years. Shirley Engerer rides for herself, to feel the rush of victory at the finish line and to prove her athletic prowess. Whether there is a personal connection or just the desire to help out in a great cause while you get in shape, the RONA MS Bike Tours are right for you. Barb Robinson, Manager of Fund Raising Events for the MS Society of Canada (Ontario Division), notes that the focus is on fun. "The tours are not a race. They are a great opportunity to meet wonderful, enthusiastic people who gather together each year to have a good time and raise funds for multiple sclerosis." This year's RONA MS Bike Tours will take place in three southern Ontario locations - from Brampton to Guelph (August 21st and 22nd), in the Niagara Region (August 29th), and in Toronto (September 12th). More information about multiple sclerosis and the RONA MS Bike Tours is available at www.msbiketours.com or by calling (416) 967-3038 or 1-800-268-7582.
