Posted: July 29, 2004 Athletics: Five Quebec women athletes invited to join the competition at 2004 NACAC-TELUS Track & Field Championships Sherbrooke, July 28, 2004 - In order to complete the required number of competitors in some events, the Organizing Committee invited five high level women throwers from the Province of Québec to join the competition. These athletes will participate as guests, meaning that their performance will not affect the final results of the other competitors. Originating from Lac-Mégantic, Dominique Bilodeau, Canadian senior javelin champion, will be participating in the javelin competition. She realizes her personal best mark during the Canadian Senior Championships held in Victoria this year with a throw of 52.06 m Two athletes, members of the "Vert et Or" team of the Université de Sherbrooke, will participate in the Championships. Canadian senior champion, Julie Bourgon, will participate in the discus event. Her personal best this season is a throw of 52.85m. Her team mate, Nathalie Thénor, will participate in the hammer event. Nathalie finished fourth during the 2004 Canadian Senior Championships and her personal best in 2004 is a throw of 59.38m. In the same event, hammer, Michelle Fournier, Canadian senior vice-champion, will participate. Her personal best in 2004 is 62.96m. The 2004 Canadian junior champion, Marie-Ève Boisselle, will have the opportunity to show us her know-how, having realized a performance of 55.21m this year.
