Posted: August 7, 2004 Athletics: Team USA to compete in Munich INDIANAPOLIS – A star-studded lineup featuring many of America’s finest athletes will take on teams representing Germany and France at the 2004 Team Athletics Challenge August 8 in Munich, Germany. Team USA will be led by 2004 Olympic Trials winners Dwight Phillips (men’s long jump), Jonathon Johnson (men’s 800m), Jarred Rome (men’s discus), and Erin Gilreath (women’s hammer). Other 2004 Olympic men’s team members competing in Munich include Coby Miller & John Capel (100m), Khadevis Robinson (800m), Charlie Gruber (1,500m), Reese Hoffa (shot put) and Ian Waltz (discus). 2004 women’s Olympic team members competing Sunday include Angela Williams (4x100m relay pool), Hazel Clark (800m), Joanna Hayes & Melissa Morrison (100m hurdles), Amy Acuff & Chaunte Howard (high jump), Jillian Schwartz & Kellie Suttle (pole vault), Grace Upshaw (long jump), Kristin Heaston (shot put) and Anna Mahon (hammer). Team USA has established relay pools for the men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m relays in Munich. Each pool contains a minimum of 13 names, including such luminaries as Maurice Greene, Shawn Crawford, Tyree Washington, Marion Jones, Gail Devers and Jearl Miles-Clark. Head coaches Pat Henry (men) and Diane Wholey (women) have yet to announce which athletes will compete in Munich. The full roster pools are listed below.
