Posted: August 10, 2004 Athletics: Update on the Louis Riel Indoor Track The Runner's Web was in touch with Jacques Lortie who will be running the new indoor training facility at Louis Riel High School When it is expected to open? The target date is January 10, 2005. I am still waiting from the Board's staff and architects for some confirmation details on the construction starting date. Parking availability? There will be plenty of parking added to the school existing facility at no cost to the users. Fees, seasonal, weekly, daily? As the month of July was a holiday season for a lot of the staff/volunteers and members of the Ottawa Lions, the details on the rental fees, season scheduling and membership is still to be confirmed. I expect by the end of August the information will be available. Hours of operation for the public? Hours of operation will be probably : week nights from 17h to midnight, weekend from 6h to midnight and possibly at lunch time for commercial/office leagues. To be confirmed. Will just the track be available or any portion of the infield? Both, the sport field and the track will be available to the public. When will memberships be available and where? To be determined in August/September 2004. Are the Lions managing it? Yes they are and I am the person retained to manage it for the club. Is there a web site or page? A web site will be developed at a later date. Any other info? I will keep you on my contact list for periodical information. I am sorry that I don't have to this date much more information to share with you.
