Posted: August 10, 2004 Triathlon: TriGenix Nutritional Systems to Sponsor US Age Group Nationals USA Triathlon is proud to announce TriGenix Nutritional Systems as the presenting sponsor for the 2004 National Age Group Championship on Sept. 18 in Shreveport, La. The age group championship is the premier event owned and hosted by USA Triathlon. “TriGenix is the ideal presenting sponsor for an event as large as the National Age Group Championship,” said Bill Wengert, USA Triathlon's director of finance administration. “It is a great company and its sponsorship of this event allows us to take it to the next level as a premier national championship for our amateur athletes.” TriGenix Nutritional Systems are scientifically designed to replenish the body’s essential nutrients that are lost during long, strenuous workouts. Its key ingredients, which include coenzyme Q10, vitamin B12 and vitamin C, increase endurance and propel muscle recovery. “TriGenix is extremely excited to be associated with USA Triathlon, and especially with the National Age Group Championship, because we want to have the opportunity to support amateur athletes as well as the elite athletes,” said Culley Davis, Trigenix founder and CEO. “This is also a great opportunity to create more awareness for our products while helping the athletes perform their best.” TriGenix will be providing a prize purse for the age-group contestants that will value over $10,000 including cash for those that finish at the top of their divisions. Additionally, TriGenix will host a post-event party in downtown Shreveport Saturday evening at the Festival Plaza for all athletes and their families. The TriGenix NAGC will attract top athletes from across the country to determine one national champion for each of the five-year age groups. The race will also be the qualifying event for Team USA for the International Triathlon Union World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii. This year’s NAGC promises to be more exciting than ever before, featuring a new course that will be both challenging for the athletes and thrilling for spectators. The race will begin with a 1,500-meter swim course through Shreveport’s Red River, followed by a flat, fast 24.8-mile bike course out of the Stoner Boat Launch Park and onto the Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway. The race will conclude with a 10k single-loop run that will start and finish from the Stoner Boat Launch Park. “Shreveport and the State of Louisiana are very excited and proud to host the National Age Group Championships again,” said Mary Ann Tice, Executive Director and CAO of the Shreveport Regional Sports Authority. “We are thrilled to host this year's swim in the most popular recreation venue in Northwest Louisiana--the renowned Red River. “Adding to our anticipation for this year's event is the addition of Premier Event Management and Bill Burke as race director. We have a great Mardi Gras party planned for all and look forward to sharing this year's changes and additions with USAT triathletes. Laissez les bon temps roulet! Let the good times roll!"
