Posted: August 16, 2004 Triathlon: Noble comes 5th in LL Tri in Scotland less than 24 hrs after coming 6th ITU Cup race in Ireland
Fermanagh athlete Gavin Noble came 5th in the Loch Lomond Adventure Tri less than 24 hours after coming 6th in the Lough Neagh ITU Cup race in Ireland on Saturday. Gavin, Irelands top International Elite did not show much sign of fatigue when he went out on Sunday to race in the Adventure Tri (which has mountain biking as opposed to the usual road racing) against some of Great Britains best athletes. All things considered he had a great race. The tri was eventually won by Richard Stannard, one of the UKs and Worlds highest ranked triathletes. Catriona Morrisson from Scotland won the womens race. She too raced in and won the Lough Neagh ITU race the previous day. This goes to show just how fit professional athletes are these days. It usually takes a week to recover from some of these triathlons, but these guys seem fine just hours later. Sun Aug 15th - Loch Lomond Adventure Tri, Scotland (1500m swim, 25k cycle, 10k run)
