Posted: August 23, 2004 Triathlon: Quotes from Olympic Triathlete Sheila Taormina Quotes from Olympic Triathlete Sheila Taormina On the course: I’ve said before, that hill (on the bike course) is a killer, but it’s exactly what we asked for. We wanted it to be a true triathlon. But it’s going to be a tough day. On the heat in Athens: I’ve been training in (Clermont,) Florida. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to train in heat like this. But you have to be smart. The sun is going to be beating down on us. Even when we line up for the introductions before the swim, we’ll be standing on the beach in direct sun. That will be a factor. On why she is retiring from triathlon after the Games It’s fun, but it keeps me from doing too many things that I enjoy. I have a lot of speaking engagements. I want to give back to my sponsors, the people who have supported me. I want to get a camper and cruise the country going to expos.
