COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 1. 2004) – USA Triathlon has hired Mike Greer of Ransom Canyon, Texas, to serve as its interim executive director until a permanent executive director can be hired. Greer has served USA Triathlon as a race director, volunteer, sponsor, official, competitor, course designer and motivator to aspiring athletes. He served on the USA South Midwest Regional Board, the USAT Board of Directors, including time as president in 1994, and the USAT Race Directors Commission, including as chairman. He is a USA Triathlon race director and businessman who has owned eight small companies and done business in 48 states and three foreign countries. “I look forward to helping USAT’s progress continue as we search for a permanent executive director,” Greer said. Greer is married to Marti Greer and has seven children and 13 grandchildren. He has written and published the book “Mind Management – The Ultimate in Self Improvement.” He also enjoys reading autobiographies and studying the U.S. presidents.
