Athletics: Ed Whitlock, (70 - 74 masters age-group) Runs 37:33 10K at Toronto Island Race

Canada's Ed Whitlock, running in the masters 70-74 age-group, ran a 37:33 10K on Sunday.

This beats the current 38:04 record (held by Whitlock) for this age-group on the World Masters web site. It also beats his previous Canadian record of 38:29.

Whitlock placed 10th overall in the race which had 645 finishers.

He aims to better his remarkable world marathon record of 2:59:10 at this month's Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, September 26th. For more on this story visit the Runner's Web.

Whitlock is the top ranked masters runner in the 70-74 age-group in Running Times Magazine Rankings.
