Posted: October 15, 2004 Athletics: Kiprono Out Of Amsterdam Marathon From David Monti (c) 2004 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com Our Dutch correspondent Wim van Hemert reported today that Kenyan Josphat Kiprono, will not be able to start Sunday's ING Amsterdam Marathon. "Jos Hermens announced thtat Josephat Kiprono will not start because he is not feeling well," said van Hemert in an e-mail message. Kiprono, 30, is one of the most consistently fast marathoners in history. Not only does he have a career best time of 2:06:44, set when he won Berlin in 1999, but he has broken 2:07:30 five times and has won the Berlin, Rotterdam and Roma marathons during his career. William Kipsang set the Amsterdam course record of 2:06:39 in 2003. Comment on this story. |
