Athletics: Update on the Louis Riel Dome - Canada's First Indoor 400M Track

Information Bulletin # 1 - Louis-Riel Public High School Dome

The objective of this bulletin is to inform you on the progress of the dome development and construction

Construction & timelines:
The CEPEO Board, at its regular meeting on October 19th, approved a 6 million dollar budget for the dome's construction and approved a contract with LEDCOR Construction for the project

The preparation work for the construction began on November 1st with the arrival of the heavy equipment, measurements and excavation required for the dome's base and foundations

First shovel in the ground ceremony will be held on Friday November 26th at 10 a.m. You are welcomed to attend and please confirm your attendance at 613-742-8960 ext. 2156

The ground work and the foundations are to be completed by the end of November

The dome will arrive in December and will be installed in the first week of January

Artificial field turf and the 400 meter track installation will be done in January and February

End of construction work and dome opening at end of February

Use of the Dome:
Meetings with potential users of the sports field have started. If you know of any sport groups or possible users who might be interested in using the dome starting in March 2005, please have them contact Jacques Lortie at 742-8960 ext. 2156 or by email at dome@cepeo.on.ca.

A user form for facility reservations will be available within the next weeks. If you have an immediate interest in the use of the facilities please send us an email at dome@cepeo.on.ca.

Communications:
A Web site is being developed and will be operational in December. More information will be available in the next bulletin
We are available for meetings with sport groups and associations who wish to get more information. A PowerPoint presentation and a flyer are also available describing the facility features and the hourly rental rates
