Posted: November 15, 2004 Athletics: Defending Champions To Return To Manchester From David Monti (c) 2004 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com The classic Manchester Road Race, scheduled for Thursday, November 25 in Manchester, Conn., will feature its defending champions, Patrick Nthiwa of Kenya and Emilie Mondor of Canada. It will be the 68th edition of the race. Mondor is also the course record holder, having clocked 23:59 for the hilly 4.748 mile course last year. "Patrick and Emilie are phenomenal competitors," said Manchester Road Race Committee President David Prindiville in a prepared statement. "Their respective attempts to repeat against another world-class field of elite runners will certainly make it a very exciting race." More than 100 road races are held in the United States on November 25, the Thanksgiving holiday, where Americans eat untold pounds of turkey. Comment on this story. |
