Athletics: Former Canadian SC record holder, Joe Sax, dies at CIS XC Championships

Joe Sax died yesterday of a heart attack while spectating at the CIS Cross Country Championships in Guelph, Ontario.

Joe was the distance coach for the Mississauga Track Club, former member of Toronto Olympic Club and the former Canadian record holder for 3000m steeplechase.

Visitation will be held at the Scott Funeral Home Mississauga Chapel at 420 Dundas Avenue, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held on Thursday November 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church at 1171 Clarkson Road. The phone number of the church is 905-822-1171. The family is requesting that donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund in Joe's Name.
