Athletics: Olympic gold medalist named 2004 Executive of the Year

Benita Fitzgerald Mosley has been named the 2004 Executive of the Year by Television Week Magazine.

Since March of 2001, Fitzgerald Mosley, the 1984 Olympic women's 100m hurdles gold medalist, has served as president and CEO of Women in Cable & Telecommunications (WICT), a 4,500-member association for women in the rapidly converging cable television and telecommunications industries.

Fitzgerald Mosley oversees all activities of the WICT association and foundation, which includes operations, fundraising, research, programs and events, marketing, member services and the oversight of 22 Chapters. In November 2003, Fitzgerald Mosley was ranked #67 on CableFax Magazine's annual list of the top 100 most influential executives in the industry.

An eight-time national champion, and a 15-time All-American, Fitzgerald Mosley was a member of the 1980 and 1984 U. S. Olympic Teams and an alternate on the 1988 U. S. Olympic Team. She was the second American woman, after Babe Didrickson, to win an Olympic gold medal in the 100-meter hurdles. Fitzgerald Moseley was also a gold medalist at the 1983 Pan American Games.

Dudley and Riddle win 2004 USA 50 km Championship Titles

Mike Dudley and Anne Riddle were the men's and women's winners Sunday at the 2004 USA 50 km Championships in Peachtree City, Georgia.

On the fourth lap, Dudley (Marietta, Ga.) broke away from the pack to win the men's race in 3 hours, 5 minutes, 34 seconds. The 34-year-old edged runner-up Kevin Beck (Concord, N.H.) who finished in 3:06:22.

Riddle (Swannanoa, N.C.) finished eighth overall and won the women's race in 3:39:58. The 38-year-old also won the women's race at the 2004 USA Marathon Trail Championships on October 17, 2004 in Hendersonville, N.C.
