Posted: November 23, 2004 Athletics: Metivier named USATF Athlete of the Week INDIANAPOLIS - Renee Metivier has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after leading the University of Colorado to the 2004 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships women's team title Monday at in Terre Haute, Indiana. A senior from Highland Village, Texas, Metivier ran 20 minutes, 26.4 seconds to place second overall, replicating her NCAA runner-up finish from 2001 and earning her third All-America honor in cross country. An eight-time All-American overall in track and cross country, Metivier led five Colorado teammates into the top 30, for the winning team total of 63 points. Now in its fourth year, USATF's Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on the USATF website.
