Posted: January 6, 2005 Athletics: Estes Named USATF LDR Programs Manager From David Monti (c) 2004 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com USATF reported yesterday that Jim Estes had been hired for the new position of Long Distance Running Programs Manager. Estes, who lives in Louisville, Ky., is a former USATF Men's Long Distance Running Committee Chairman. Estes will work closely with USATF's LDR Sport Committees, as well as the Elite Athlete, Marketing, Events and Communications departments on LDR community outreach, LDR Championships promotion and service, and USA Running Circuit programs, according to a press release made public by USATf yesterday. Estes will contribute to marketing proposals and sponsor fulfillment related to LDR events and programs, and he will spearhead USATF's LDR communications efforts. Estes and his wife Camille have run their own running/walking specialty store, Fleet Feet Sports in Louisville, since June 1999. It was not clear whether he would need to relocate in order to take his new post. Comment on this story. |
