Posted: January 11, 2005 Media: Running Times Reports Record Year From David Monti (c) 2004 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com
Running Times, the #2 U.S. running magazine, announced today that their publication enjoyed record subscription levels and advertising revenue during 2004. Publisher, Carol Lasseter-Rice, said in a written statement: "Circulation climbed from 85,000 at the end of 2003 to over 90,000 at the close of 2004, a new high. And we are planning for and projecting circulation growth to 110,000 by December 2005, a major increase." Lasseter-Rice also reported that advertising revenues had increased by 17% over 2003 for the Wilton, Conn.-based glossy which offers its subscribers ten issues per year. The magazine also said a new affinity credit card, issued in cooperation with MBNA, was "a positive development," and that some 7,000 people were now receiving a e-newsletter dedicated to training. "We are looking forward to another record year in 2005," Lasseter-Rice also said. Jonathan Beverly, the magazine's editor, pulls the publication together from rural Nebraska where he is an avid runner. Most of the magazine's other editorial staff are based in Connecticut.
