Athletics: Indiana Invaders Add Conference USA Champion Ricardo Bell

(INDIANAPOLIS) The Indiana Invaders have added Conference USA 800 Champion Ricardo Bell, of East Carolina University, to the team's roster.

Bell won the Conference USA Outdoor Championship 800 meters in 2004 and was a member of East Carolina's 2004 NCAA Outdoor National Championships 4x400 meter relay team. As a 2003 and 2004 NCAA Regional Qualifier in the 800, Bell also set school records in the 800, DMR, SMR, and 4x800.

Bell, a graduate of Havelock High School (NC), set school records in the 500, 800, 1000, 1600, and 4x800. Bell was the 1999 North Carolina High School State 3A Champion in the 800.

Team Director Greg Harger said, "Bell has a great deal of potential. His addition to the team basically fulfills our goal for middle distance athletes on the men's side of things." Harger added, "Bell joins a great group that is totally focused on the 2008 Olympic Olympiad."
