Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge and Ethiopian Tirunesh Dibaba were winners at today's View from Great North Cross Country in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Kipchoge was a hasty replacement for Olympic 10,000m gold medalist Kenenisa Bekele who missed the meet because of the sudden death of his fiancée last week. An Olympic medalist himself, Kipchoge is a favorite to make the podium at the IAAf World Cross Country Championships in March.

Dibaba, the 2003 world 5000m champion and still just a teenager, got the victory over reigning world cross country champion, Benita Johnson of Australia. Dibaba was the world 4 km cross country silver medalist in 2004.
