Posted: January 29, 2005 Athletics: USATF News & Notes, Volume 6, Number 8 Brew to take part in "Be A Champion" program Olympic 400-meter bronze medalist and 4x400m relay gold medalistDerrick Brew will speak to hundreds of young people Saturday, January 29 at the Northwest Flyers Track Club registration breakfast in Houston, Texas as part of USA Track & Field's new"Be A Champion" program. He will address healthy lifestyles, keeping active, and living with integrity. He will field questions from the young people and lead them in reciting the "Be A Champion" pledge. The event will begin at 9:15 a.m. A major initiative by USA Track & Field and the American College of Sports Medicine, "Be A Champion" facilitates direct interaction between Olympic medalists and middle-school aged children around the country, in order to positively impact their lifestyles and decision-making.
