Athletics: Zurich Marathon "Sold Out"

3rd Zurich Marathon powered by ewz - All 7000 available registrations taken

Approximately one month before the end of the official registration deadline the third Zurich Marathon is "sold out". The largest Swiss marathon race has reached its participant capacity limit for the third year in a row. The number of runners is limited to 7000 for security reasons and to give runners enough space to run. If more runners were allowed to participate, the first few kilometers of the 42.195 km race especially would be overly crowded which would diminish the quality of the race. The starting gun for the 3rd Zurich Marathon will be fired at Landiwiese in Zürich-Wollishofen on April 3rd at 8.30 am.

Registrations only available via the Market Place (Marktplatz)

Since the marathon event is sold out, runners will not be able to register online at www.zurichmarathon.com anymore. However, the section "Marktplatz" (market place) on the German version of the website is now activated. If you are not yet registered, you might be able to secure a registration through this service, where runners who are unable to participate in the race will offer their registrations. The organizers urge participants to sell their registrations for no more than the original price of CHF 95. You can find links other running venues at www.swissrunners.ch.

More information on the Zurich Marathon is available at when active.
