Triathlon: Bike Course Change For Opel IRONMAN GERMANY

February 3rd, 2005:

Where Elvis had a good time: Bad Nauheim now on the Course of the Opel IRONMAN GERMANY Triathlon, powered by Duracell

The city of Bad Nauheim will extend the bike course in the northern direction and will be a new atmosphere highlight on July 10th, 2005.

An initiative of Bad Nauheims City Councillor Mr. Konrad Doerner to integrate an additional highlight into the course started already last year. A long-run perspective and enthusiasm brought towards the organizers of the Opel IRONMAN GERMANY were reasons for a quick decision to change the bike course. Passing along the saltern of the "Health-Mile" Bad Nauheim the approx. 2.000 athletes from more than 40 nations "will be cheered up and warmly welcomed by the inhabitants of the city", says City Councillor Doerner. The town of Niederdorfelden with its mayor Wilfried Schneider contributes their charming town centre to achieve a fast and fluid bike course. President of Opel IRONMAN GERMANY, Kurt Denk and Racedirector Kai Walter add further advantages of the newerly changes: "We are absolutely happy to find new partners for the course which will bring even more fairness to the competition by a faster and convienient course. The change will also provide additional optical highlights and more spectators for our athletes from more than 40 nations."

The characteristics of the bike course can be viewed from today on at www.opel-ironman.de.
