Posted: February 27, 2005 Athletics: Jones and Harris Advance In 800M On Referee's Decision From David Monti (c) 2004 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com BOSTON (27-Feb) -- Logan Jones and Jebrah Harris were advanced to today's 800m final at the U.S. Indoor Championships after they protested that they were interfered with in their heats by a meet worker. Jones, who finished last in heat two, and Harris, who finished second in the same heat, were forced to suddenly step to their right on turn three of their second to last lap when a meet worker, who was clearing the long jump pit next to the track, allowed his broom handle to extend into their paths. The worker was removed from his post. Eight athletes will run in the final; the fastest qualifier was Kevin Hicks of Florida A&M: 1:47.98 Comment on this story. |
