Brian Campbell keeps on running The current Irish Triathlon Champion, Brian Campbell has shown he is in good form at present. It augers well for a great season and another step up in performance level. He finished 4th at the Northern Ireland Cross Country Championships recently. Bobby Behan turns Pro Bobby Behan, one of Irelands top International triathletes has resigned as the Sales and Sports Marketing Manager for Oakley in Ireland, to focus full time on triathlon. Bobby Behan has had a successful season last year, despite the constraints of a full time job. As a result, Bobby feels with more focus he can make considerable improvements on last years performances. For the past 6 months Bobby has been working very hard attracting sponsors, thus enabling him to train and compete full time. As a result, Bobby has created a website (www.lacticburn.com) with Jane Waugh as a means of promoting all of the sponsors who have come on board to support these two athletes. Bobby has also set up a small on line coaching business, with specific details located on the site. Bobby's main sponsor is the Heritage Golf and Country Club in Co. Laois (www.theheritagegolf.com). "If Golf is your passion, then this course definitely has to be checked out - this facility is unbelieveable!". Bobby's last day of work is March 17th, so he departs to South Africa on March 18th to commence training. "I have not had a great winter, to be perfectly honest, so I am hoping a good 2 month training block in South Africa will give me some foundation for competition at ITU Level. In 2005, I aim to return to racing at ITU level, but considering the winter that I have had, I am hoping to see the real benefits of my decision in 2006. 2 months will not be long enough to get my swim competitive again, although I do hope to see some good improvements - I am from a competitive swimming background, which I know is hard to believe looking at last years splits! On the bike, the fact that the ITU are now starting to implement challenging bike courses similar to Athens, is a real positive, thus making ITU Triathlon a more individual event comprising of 3 events rather than the swim/run race, it has been for the past few years. I feel with focused training there is a lot of room for improvement on my biking and running. I also feel this style of racing will suit me". Bobby and Janes profiles are in the www.lacticburn.com. Limerick Try-athlon The first triathlon of the season will be held in Limerick on April 3rd. Entry forms and flyer are available in the Downloads section under Race Entry. Entry Deadline is March 24th. Triathlon Ireland's website is at: .
