Posted: March 14, 2005 Triathlon: Quelle Challenge Roth reaches capacity, creates waiting list The Quelle Challenge Roth, the world's largest long-course race, has reached capacity, with 2,200 athletes set to start the classic race on Sunday, July 3 near Nuremberg, Germany. A waiting list has been created that guarantees the first 200 athletes on the list a place on the start line. The field is truly international, with athletes from 42 nations signed on to race over the legendary course. Thirty percent of the starters come from outside Germany, a 10 percent increase over past years. The race will double as the German Long-Distance Championship and the second annual Ultra-Distance World Championship for Firefighters. Here's how the wait list works: TEAMChallenge can guarantee that the first 200 on the waiting list will be accepted because every year about ten percent of the athletes who register for the race find they cannot take part because of health problems or other reasons. The first 200 athletes on the waiting list will be assured of an entry, and their names will appear on the start list automatically. Those not shown on the start list will be contacted if a place in the race becomes available. The waiting list will close May 17. For more information about the race, and for entry forms, visit www.challenge-roth.com. For results, news and photos from the 2004 edition, visit www.ChallengeLive.com. Quelle Challenge Roth's sponsors include: Quelle AG, Deutsche Post AG, N-ERGIE, DB Regio, Opel AG, Newline, Nürnberger Nachrichten (Nürnberg Newspapers), Bayrische Versicherungskammer, Maxim, Phillips, Erdinger Alkoholfrei, Sparkasse Mittelfranken-Süd, ADAC, Arndt, Recaro, PowerBar, County of Roth, City of Roth, City of Hilpoltstein, Coca-Cola, Frankenbrunnen, Zeus Copy, Paladin, Hofmann, Jura Kaelte, Lorenz & Partner, INKO Energy, Flor & Sohn, Spedition Heinloth, and BIESTMILCH.
