Posted: March 25, 2005 Athletics: Karlsruhe Top Indoor Meet Of 2005 By Bob Ramsak, Track Profile (c) 2004 Track Profile all rights reserved TrackProfile.com The LBBW Meeting in Karlsruhe, Germany was the top indoor track meet of 2005, heading the list for the second consecutive year. Based upon the Hungarian Tables that assign points to individual performances, the Feb. 13 competition tallied 35,725 points, just edging the Norwich Union Indoor Grand Prix held in Birmingham, GBR on Feb. 18, which tallied 35,719. Seven world-leading performances --at that time-- were set in Karlsruhe, including Ronald Pognon's European record of 6.45 in the 60 meters. The Sparkassen-Cup in Stuttgart ranked No. three, followed by the Reebok Boston Indoor Games and the Powered by Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. Five of the top-12 indoor meets, according to the tables, were held in Germany.
