Posted: March 31, 2005 Athletics: Manchester Road Race 2004 Donations Exceed $100,000 From David Monti (c) 2004 Race Results Weekly, all rights reserved RaceResultsWeekly.com In addition to being the most competitive Thanksgiving Day road race in the United States, the Manchester Road Race is also one of the most generous. According to figures relased this week by Manchester Road Race Committee president, Dave Prindiville, the 2004 edition of the race made total cash donations of $111,971 to 20 different charities. Donation amounts ranged from $20,000 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association down to $565 to the Manchester High School tennis team to buy a new machine to re-string racquets. The average donation was about $5600. The 2005 Manchester Road Race, the 69th edition, is scheduled for Thursday, November 24. Comment on this story. |
