Multisport: Second annual U.S. Multisport Directory™ now available, doubles in size

MILWAUKEE April 3, 2005: The comprehensive, 2005 U.S. Multisport Directory™ starts shipping nationwide this week, and is filled with more than 1,500 marathons, triathlons, duathlons, adventure races, cycling rides, and other multisport and endurance events nationwide, nearly twice as many as last year’s inaugural edition. This year’s guidebook also features color-coded page trim, cross-referenced by month, state and sport, making it easier and quicker to find the perfect event, no matter the destination. Designed to be handy, durable and easy to use, its 5.25-inch by 8.25-inch size and heavy-stock cover makes the new U.S. Multisport Directory™ a year-round training and race-planning partner. It’s available by online order at www.usmultisportpublications.com or by calling (414) 483-5445.

“I’ve been racing triathlon and other endurance sports for 23 years, and every year I’ve had the same concerns,” says Hubie Krawczyk, co-publisher, U.S. Multisport Publications, a division of Thomas J. Hubert Advertising, Cudahy, Wis. “Advertisements are mixed in and around race calendar columns, and that turns quickly finding race choices into a scavenger hunt in and of itself. A local calendar doesn’t give you enough regional or national options, and a national calendar might be broken down into regions but never into state destinations. The newsprint or super-light magazine quality is only meant to survive a month of use, and a few months into the year, your ‘annual guide’ has become smudged, tattered and torn.”

Krawczyk and his partners, Warren Knoll and Anthony James, have streamlined the search for the perfect event with the U.S. Multisport Directory. “You say your brother lives in Nebraska and you’re traveling there for the Fourth of July? In five seconds, you’ll have a list of ten races there, that week, with all the information you need to start the registration process,” says Knoll. “How easy is that? We’re all about making connections – providing a usable, reliable, durable directory for the athletes, and a great vehicle for event directors to draw more participants from more places.”

Adds James, “planning which races to go was always supposed to be exciting, but instead it was a time consuming chore. So, we’ve reinvented the wheel, and we’re not done yet.” The company is developing its website now, and plans to continue to tweak the printed directory with more information and organization, making each race or tour’s planning as exciting as any overdue vacation away from home.
