Triathlon: Success can be taken as RED

A bright sunny day in Yeovil, Somerset saw the launch of the 2005 TRI UK-GATORADE Race Team, the largest and most successful sponsored team in Europe. The team consists of over 50 of the UK's top Professional, Elite and Age-Group triathletes, including Richard Allen.

The Team will be kitted out in the new red FOOR tri kit, with matching Cannondale bikes, Limar helmets and Adidas Eyewear. The look will certainly be a striking presence on the UK Race Scene

The Team met at the TRI UK super-store in Yeovil to collect their sponsored team kit from 2005 sponsors TRI UK, Gatorade, Cannondale, Saucony, Adidas eyewear, FOOR, Limar, Easton, Carnac, Fizik, Zoggs and Cycleops.

The launch gave members of the Race Team the opportunity to swim in TRI UK's in-store Endless Pool and take advantage of the vast array of expert knowledge of the Sponsors and the TRI UK staff present during the launch.

2004 proved to be yet another successful year for the TRI UK-Gatorade Race Team with Pete Younghusband winning '220 Age Group Triathlete of the Year' and team mate Bob Holloway being nominated for the same award. Dougie Hall also had a successful season winning the Bill Smith Memorial Trophy. Numerous members of the team achieved qualification for the ITU World Championships and both Ian White and Margaret Sills successfully represented TRI UK in Kona, Hawaii at the IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

TRI UK Gatorade team member Richard Allen comments: "The Team looks fitter and stronger than ever before and there is no reason why we shouldn't build on the performances of the past few years. I'm looking forward to another great year this year and would like to thank TRI UK and all the other sponsors for their continued support with the team over the years."

Co-owner of TRI UK and manager of the TRI UK Gatorade Race Team, Alison Boon, comments: "2005 looks set to be another successful season. The Team is the strongest it has ever been and with the many of our sponsors returning, as well as a host of new sponsors, the Team will once again look to dominate the UK race scene during the 2005 season".
