Triathlon: Erika Pollack Among Favorites At The "Best Of The US Amateur Triathlete Competition's" Alabama Qualifier

(St. Paul, MN - 4/17/05) Team-Magic, producers of the Buster Britton Triathlon, and "Best of the US.." management invite Alabama's triathlon community to participate in the 2005 Buster Britton Triathlon on June 12. This popular event is part of the inaugural "Best of the US Amateur Triathlete Competition," and promises to be hotly contested. For more information on the Buster Britton Triathlon, visit www.team-magic.com or www.bestoftheustriathletes.com.

A special invitation is extended to the elite amateur athletes of the "Heart of Dixie," as the fastest male and female resident amateurs will advance to the "Best of the US Championships" in picturesque Gilford, NH on August 20, where they'll race head-to-head with the winners of the other 49 state qualifiers.

In order to insure that all states will be represented at the Championship, a 5-deep passdown system will be in effect. If the "Best of the US.." state champion is unable to attend the championship, his or her slot will be offered to the next in line, and so on.

While is difficult to predict the men's favorites, Erika Pollack appears to be the woman to beat on June 12:

ERIKA POLLACK (30, Spanish Fork)

1st @ Mullet Man '04,
1st @ 2004 Abitaman #2 '04,
2nd @ 2004 Abitaman #1 & #3
3rd @ Santa Rosa Island '03

Other women deserving consideration include LORI GOLDWEBER (41, Birmingham) and JANIE DAVIS (41, Birmingham)
