Posted: June 30, 2005 Triathlon: Quelle renews title sponsorship for two years The top German mail-order retailer, Quelle, has signed on for another two years as the title sponsor of the Quelle Challenge Roth, the world's largest iron-distance race. On the eve of the race's 21st running, Quelle's director of sponsorship, Gerhard Zahn, announced with pride that the company was excited to retain its long association with the race—an alliance that stretches back more than 15 years. Quelle stayed fast with the race when it split from the World Triathlon Corporation four years ago, believing that the classic event would retain its standing as one of the world's very best long-distance races. That decision proved to be a fortuitous one. This year, the race's popular relay offering filled to capacity in November, with a long waiting list, and reached its limit of 2,200 individual starters in March—again with a long waiting list. "Who would have thought three years ago that the race would be full in early March, but we've come back to the top of the triathlon scene," Zahn said. Learn more about Quelle here: www.quelle.de.
