Athletics: Peachtree Road Race Reaches Across the Globe

Armed Forces Division of Race Celebrate Independence Day

Over 2,000 soldiers in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan celebrated Independence Day by running 6.2 miles in the Armed Forces division of the Peachtree Road Race. The Atlanta Track Club provided race organization advice, race numbers, specially designed t-shirts for runners and volunteers, a race banner and awards for first place male and female finishers.

"The Atlanta Track Club is honored to host the Armed Forces Division of the Peachtree Road Race as a gift to our U.S. service men and women serving there this Fourth of July," said Julia Emmons, Executive Director, Atlanta Track Club.
